(Incidentally, this is apparently how you get lots of hits on Kinja. Definitely one of my most popular posts, and it was just one crappy photo and one magic phrase.)

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I regret this is the only photo I could get. JL Rubicon Hellcat, apparently.

I always wanted to get the AEV conversion kit when I had my JK and toss the 5.7 or 6L into it...

Awesome!

While I know FCA seems to be all, “hellcat all the things” I seriously doubt  this is a factory config.

I remember a rep saying they wouldn’t stuff a Hellcat motor into one of these from the factory because of crash safety.

Yeah, they said they had no problems getting the Hellcat v8 to fit in the engine bay, but once it was in, there was no room for a crumple zone, which is why they can’t offer it like that from the factory.

I was disappointed that AEV had stopped manufacturing anything for TJs by the time I got into the hobby...not that I could have afforded to buy anything from them.

Cost of Jeep stuff was part of the reason I got out of it. I do miss that rig every now and then.

This is most likely NOT a Hellcat. First off , it’s not wearing ANY camouflage whatsoever . Second, too many items have been upgraded like rims and fenders, no Hellcat mule would have anything other that stock parts on it. Last, and this is a big one, the brakes, the brakes are regular old rinky-dinky stock brakes that are off the cheapest model. No freakin way, this thing if real, would have at the very least some 4 piston fronts and 2 piston rear Brembos or equivalent. I’m thinking 6 piston fronts for extra weight and speed.

Oh, I know it’s not a mule. As discussed on this piece and elsewhere, FCA isn’t going to make this due to the lack of crumple zone.

My assumption is, if it is indeed a Hellcat, that it’s done by someone doing it for fun ...and that would also explain a lack of brake upgrades. Jeep owners (and I assume this isn’t unique to us) are notorious for incomplete upgrades. Bigger tires without bigger axles, e.g.

they do exist...and they are pretty pricy...anywhere from 80k up to 100k...

Someone else asked about brakes: have these been upgraded, and what else was necessary (or at least useful) besides the engine itself?

(Warning: I’m pretty mechanically clueless, so use reasonably small words if you can.)

Thanks for the comment. I updated the post with your photo of the engine.

That looks like a beautifully clean build. It’s also terrifying to think about what it’s like to drive. Do you see your life flash before your eyes every time the pedal is pressed?  Does it do wheelies (j/k but for real tho...)?

That is rather a lot of power in a famously high riding and unstable vehicle..

The answer to a question nobody meant to really ask. How about those brakes? Transfer case? Diffs? On-road handling upgrades? Seems like 0-death wobble in four seconds to me

It’s a engine swap, America’s most W anted 4x4 in Holly mi has developed a swap kit , for standard hemi’s and now the hell cat engine, the air filter has the companies logo,. My question is having the kit installed at a dealer like that retain any warranty?

Another SMR here - and yes, you need the ability to keep the tires on the ground if you have, say, more than 400BHP. And this has ... a few more. And make sure your life insurance is paid up ...

Don’t spark plugs these days last like 100k miles?
